Mary Ellen Grady

This rootsireland.ie subscription has paid off, as we finally have birth of Harry and now Mary Ellen Grady, Aunt Nellie.

Some confusion in finding her may be that the townland is listed incorrectly. In his case, there is no townland Derryligree.

Note that Nellie is honest with her birth year, 1886, whereas her sister Kitty claimed to be born in 1888 but was actually born in 1885.

Usually there's a link to the actual baptism, but not in this case. It would be interesting to see why it is record as 'Mary Eleanor' and then corrected below to 'Mary Ellen'.

Sponsor Thomas Dempsey could be Mariah's brother. He moves to the US with most of his siblings before moving back to Ireland (and what becomes of him?). While in the US, he pays for the plot in Brooklyn for his mother Catherine Jennings Dempsey.
