We've heard some wrong history behind the Cloonreliagh name, but it likely really means "Reilly's Meadow" or "meadow of oaks". The "wrong meanings" were supposed to have been associated with the famine, but the name existed well before then.

I recommended this book a while back, especially as Mahon was of the same family that owned all the estates where our ancestors lived.

Note that the authors conclude that Cloonreliagh was NOT the site of the murder as it occurred closer to Strokestown.
